I make art to break the boundaries of oppressive societal norms. I believe that through the practice of more conscious behaviors we can change the course of our internal, societal, and ecological realities. My practice questions and pushes the role of art and the artist, believing that art should reverberate beyond the walls of the gallery. I often use packing materials, organic matter, textiles, and the body because these materials mirror our everyday environment and create a sense of familiarity. My work highlights the interconnectedness of life in hopes of magnifying the role of the audience as participants not just within the artworks, but within their lives and society. Through my mediums of interactive installations, experiences, and personal process videos, I activate the senses of the participants to create an anchoring point of remembrance.
